The general form of linear equation is

  ax + by + c = 0

 

Write 2x + 3y = 20 in general form

  2x + 3y = 20

    2x + 3y − 20 = 0

  Comparing with ax + by + c = 0

    a = 2, b = 3, c = −20

 

Write x = −5 as an equation in two variable
