Triangles between Parallel Lines with a Common BaseLet’s look at these Triangles between Parallel lines and having a common base Let’s look at their Areas Now, formula for Area of Triangle is Area of Triangle = 1/2 × Base × Height For all 3 triangles - ∆ XBC, ∆ YBC, ∆ ZBC, Base is same, i.e. BC And, for Height Here, XD, YE, ZF are perpendiculars between two parallel lines We know that Distance between parallel lines is the same So, XD = YE = ZF Thus, we can say that Area of these three triangles is same Or more generally, Area of Triangles between between Parallel Lines and a Common Base is equal
